An Introduction

As someone who has taken a life-long hobby (or interest) to the point of being a passionate obsession,
i truly feel that this is something that is sorely missed in the online world of audio, stereo, and music in general..

as far as i'm aware, there are currently no blogs or sites dedicated to reviewing vintage stereo components
(and the records that would be played on such equipment), in this context.

An Introduction:

I have decided to create this blog for a few reasons...

First:

because of the sheer lack of  anything like this...it's a shame that there was no place to visit online, where someone who was interested in buying a particular pair of vintage speakers, or amplifier, or receiver
could check out a realistic review like the ones that are posted all over the internet (and in printed publications) about "new" or "current" stereo components.

Second:

because if somebody wanted to assemble a home stereo system made up of components that actually made music sound good these days, they would have to spend a lot of money to do it, and that usually leads to the rollercoaster of a journey that we lovingly refer to as being an audiophile,
which is essentially an expensive process of trial and error, trying to figure out what suits your musical needs, tastes, and expectations best. i must admit, my "audiophile" journey was fun... but if there was a place i could visit online (like this one),
my journey would have been much more enjoyable... and less expensive.

This blog is dedicated to the "golden age" of home stereo gear... the 70's & 80's,
and to all of the people who love real music as much as i do,
but cannot afford a $25,000 amplifier and $2,000 speaker cables.

which brings me to the multi-layered third reason for creating this blog...
because putting "rubber soul" or "kind of blue" or "dark side of the moon" on your turntable and hearing it the way it was intended, is pure magic... and i love it!
